In trying to find the Mac equivalent for Microsoft OneNote, I bought Notetaker from Aquaminds. The current verison is actually 2.0. While useful, it is a burden to use. Nothing is intuitive, so I find myself struggling through menus and the manual to do simple things like create outlines or bulleted lists with indents. The neter key (and other simple keys like shortcuts and tabs) do not behave like you might expect the, to. Printing is also a burden, as there are very few page setup options. I have been using this program for three monts, and it's still a chore. Becuase it is not intuitive, you have to struggle all over again to figure out how you did something before, unless you use that feature all the time. IMHO, Microsoft OneNote is THE BEST notetaking software out there. Aquaminds should pattern their next version after that benchmark.
UPDATE after one year of use.
I have used NoteTaker 2.0 for over one year now, and it is still a major pain to use. It is not at all intuitive; and being intuitive and easy to use is critical for this kind of software. The last thing you want is clumsy software getting in the way of your note-taking, which is exactly what NoteTaker does. Buttons are sometimes there, sometimes not. Printing is a nuisance. Moving text around is tough. Cut and paste is a mess. Making nice bullet lists is very difficult and never seems to behave the way you would expect. Steer clear. There must be something better out there!Get more detail about Notetaker For Os X V19.
