AppleWorks 6.2.2 Office Immediately

It's incompatible with my MacLinkPlus; everything must become Appleworks 5 before it can then be translated into AW6 and the same thing works in reverse. I can't cut & past text from my old fave WordPerfect for Mac. And it's the slowest somemabitch, at least in iMac X+, that I've ever had the impatience to work with. Spinning wheel: working, working, working, all right already: finish working! It's basically sound, but I can't call up the usually codes to see what is really going on, as I could with WordPerfect. Its translation to html is a nice attempt but full of hesitancies, mistranslations, & that goddamned eternal spinning wheel: processeing, processing. I really think I *could* like this word process if they fixed up the speed, efficiency, & translatability, & added the "seeing within" features I like. Dragon NaturallySpeaking Medical 9 Upgrade from Medical Get it now!

What follows is verbatim from my Dragon NS medical 9 upgrade. Any air as (errors) you see in this dictation R. because of the software. If the errors created by the program are too severe, I will handle (hand) type the corrections in parentheses so you can understand what I am trying to say.

I am running the program on a new, powerful laptop with more than adequate memory, a fast processor, and a large hard drive with ample space. I use the program in a very quiet environment. I speak American English with good addiction (diction) and accurate pronunciation, and I have no unusual accident (accent).

Let me for (first) say that I have done many things to try to improve accuracy, I have created new user profiles, optimize profiles, run the accuracy was urged (wizards) provided with the program that are supposed to improve accuracy, and I have had the program scan of my written documents on my hard drive which is also supposed to improve accuracy. None of these things have eliminated the errors UC (you see) in this document.

I am dictating this review using my version of dried and naturally speaking (...dragon naturally speaking) medical 9 upgrade. I am currently using my medical vocabulary, which makes dictating nonmedical English such as this review somewhat difficult. It would be better and more accurate if I switched to a normal vocabulary. This is a relatively time-consuming task but it yields partial results.

When I started using these programs, I noted that many users recommended a high-quality microphone in order to reduce errors. I had been using a 20 doll or (dollar) USB microphone. To make a long story short, a very expensive microphone made no difference whatsoever. I switched back to the chief (cheap)microphone just to be sure and I can tell you from experience that an expensive microphone does not make a difference. I wasted a lot of money on an expensive microphone, USB input for microphone, and microphone support system.

I have used drag and (dragon) 4 many years in my medical practice. All of my patient encounters are done using voice dictation. I started out with version 6, inversion 7, then skipped diversion 9. (then version 7, then skipped to version 9) I also used it for numerical entry to input ICD-9 codes and CPT codes. You can see that there are frequent problems and many errors. Entry into his (...numerical entry is ) quite difficult and there are many errors.

However, I have been able to reduce the number of errors and make the program passably functional by carefully controlling the vocabulary that I use, speaking extremely clearly, and avoiding certain terms and words that I know to be troublesome.

In addition, I have created a lot of macros. These are pre-dictated chunks of packed (text) that the use over and over 4 certain patient evaluations and certain patient findings that I see frequently. If you have a lot of good macro as (macros), and used them, this program will save U. a lot of time. Naturally, there will be no errors in her macro is (no errors in your macros).

My major problem with this software is a (its) stability. The software (i can't say the word program, since it triggers an unwanted behavior I can't turn off) becomes unstable if it remains open and running on your computer, even if you are not using it. For example, if I do not close the program on Friday and reopened the program on Monday, often it will not function on Monday morning at all. This forces me to close the program and reopened the program, which in a busy medical office is wasted time I could seriously do without. Sometimes the Program Seems to Be closed but there is an orphan instance of the program running that I need to stop using windows task manager before I can get the program running again.

In the previous paragraph U. saw the unusual capitalize every word behavior that sometimes pops up with his program.

Finally, I would like to be able to eliminate all of the silly short cuts that the software performs without asking. Certain words trigger unwanted behavior because they happened to be the name of short cuts that I have not figured out how external (to turn off). Other words open man use (menus) or save files, or switch programs, and I do not want to use the short cuts, I want to use the words that trigger these short cuts.

I could go on and on, but to some up, (...to sum up) I have learned to live with the program and its use he perceives (idiosyncrasies). However, this type of program has a long way to go before it is truly error free voice dictation.Get more detail about Dragon NaturallySpeaking Medical 9 Upgrade from Medical.

Low Price Microsoft Office 2004 Professional Upgrade (Mac)

It was a relief for me to be able to keep and upgrade Word and Excel, and to get Virtual PC (for Access) as well. I used them a lot on my PC a few years ago, and when I first switched to Mac, couldn't find software that did what they did. I had no trouble installing the upgrade on my iMac G5, nor did I have trouble installing Virtual PC. The only thing that WAS disappointing was that I couldn't find out whether accessing the Internet from Virtual PC would open me up to PC-type viruses, or if Mac's Unix system would protect me there, too. I continue to be disappointed that the Mac version of this software is not as rich as the PC version. But the upgrade itself worked well for what it was meant to do.Get more detail about Microsoft Office 2004 Professional Upgrade (Mac).

Save WordPerfect Office X3 Standard Edition Upgrade for PC

Don't get me wrong here, I love Word Perfect and have been using it since version 6.2a. I would never give up using Word Perfect completely, but this version just didn't run.

I had decided to upgrade my old version of Office 11 to X3 because I would finally be compatible with the computers used by my college. It was a much anticipated upgrade that I was very excited about. However, it did not run on my shiny new PC, and Corel's customer support could not find a way to avoid repeating themselves when trying to help me. In the end it never did run, and now Presentations 11 doesn't work anymore and instead of importing my old macros from Quattro, it deleted them all.

It's been sent back. I have no use for software that doesn't run, and little sympathy for software that kicks the older version apart and *still* doesn't run. If you have version 11, just keep it. The upgrade doesn't actually work like it claimed to.Get more detail about WordPerfect Office X3 Standard Edition Upgrade for PC.

Where To Buy AppleWorks 6.2

I have been using Appleworks since 1985 and followed it through numerous revisions. Appleworks is very intuitive and easy to use (I find using Word to be a wrestling match between me and the program - it keeps wanting to tell me what I'm doing instead of just doing what I ask it to do). The wordprocessor in Appleworks doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Word has but it can do everything that 99.99% of users need to get done.

As for file translation between Word and Appleworks - a quick note is in order. If you are running Appleworks under Mac Classic OS (Mac OS8 or Mac OS9) the file translation to/from Word is between 'weak' and 'passable'(50 - 70% accurate), but under OSX the file translation has made huge leaps forward. It is still not perfect. But the accuracy has jumped up into the 95-98% range.

Under Mac OS8/9, the usability in a Word/Excel world is very limited. But under Mac OSX, it's usability stands up to the needs of 99.99% of what users need.

If you are not concerned with translating documents to/from Word/Excel, then Appleworks is THE STANDARD that all others try to meet. Appleworks is far more cost effective than Word/Excel and does far more. Besides the word processor and spreadsheet Appleworks also has a Drawing module, a Painting module, and a full featured Database module. And data can be copied and pasted back and forth between ANY of the modules. This means that you can go into the Painting module and paint a picture, then copy it, and paste it into the letter you are writing to grandma in the word processor, plus much more.

For the Macintosh, Appleworks is your 'do almost everything' program for everyday data processing. (it doesn't do video or sound, or specialized tasks like that) If you want to write letters, make bulletins, or 'wanted posters', small signs, spreadsheets, drawings, paintings, or a database of your movie collection, Appleworks is for you.Get more detail about AppleWorks 6.2.

Microsoft Office X for Mac Upgrade Best Quality

I'm a Graphic Designer so I rarely use Word or Excel except for very, very basic tasks, such as copying and pasting text into desktop publishing programs. So I can't comment too much about those programs. The one application I use day in and day out all day long is Entourage.

1. Can't be programmed to accept my company's address book automatically. I have to enter the person's address in order for it to be saved.

2. If you accidentally have the wrong address typed in, well, it saves it anyway and eventually you have a list of wrong addresses to choose from your list of correct addresses. I haven't had the time to figure out how to delete addresses.

3. Tasks? Projects? Clutter tools. I never use them. Don't have the time to figure them out. Don't want to. I actually tried to utilize the Projects wizard and after spending xx minutes setting it up, I had this "That's it?!?" feeling; I didn't find it helpful or useful or intuitive at all. I'll do better to jot project notes on a piece of paper.

By far my biggest gripe is that Entourage makes EVERYTHING an ordeal to set up. I'm NOT a programmer, I don't think like a programmer. I don't have time to spend PROGRAMMING functions that should be built in.

For instance, Entourage does NOT have a basic out of office reply function! To use OoF you have to go to Tools, then Rules, then figure out which specific set of actions go together and in what order and even then it doesn't work. I had to GOOGLE for help because there is nothing about Out of Office reply in the Entourage Help section and the steps I followed based on the directions here: http://homepage.mac.com/barryw/weblog/files/category-6.html weren't even available!! I was flabbergasted and disgusted.

How could they make a function as basic and necessary as Out of Office reply so impossible to figure out or even find? Microsoft is just a huge, lumbering, programmer-minded troll and I can't stand it anymore. If this suite wasn't forced upon my by my office I'd NEVER use it.Get more detail about Microsoft Office X for Mac Upgrade.

Microsoft Office XP Developer Edition Upgrade Decide Now

Office XP itself was a fine upgrade - endlessly configurable (you don't like the clip? Kill the clip! Hate spell-on-the-fly? Turn it off), well-suited to file- and data-sharing, more stable, quicker internet data connections, still more refinements and improvements (like programmable smart tags) to Excel and Word, a much-improved set of add-ons in Project, Publisher, and Visio. And the upgrade process was easy. If you had trouble you either had some horribly complex project to switch or you waded in without paying attention to instructions. It was a very smooth transition.

The Developer version added (still adds, since you can buy it now) added developer editions of SQL Server and Exchange, plus Source Safe, Code Librarian, and various other useful and sometimes well-buried stuff. I'm not sure why Office Developer isn't just folded into a slightly downpriced MSDN Professional, but then Microsoft still hasn't matured on the level of licensing and packaging. The Office suite is, however, a mature product that has been improving enormously since the 2000 release. If only Redmond would lose their fascination with Byzantine licensing and Rubik's Cube bundling (cool! We can sell it this way, and THIS way, and THAT way, and for these people we can probably get them to pay for THIS THAT way ...), people might stop complaining and realize the products are much-improved.

2003 continues the march onward in quality. If you're considering XP Developer, you're likely better off looking at an MSDN package to get the same tools.Get more detail about Microsoft Office XP Developer Edition Upgrade.

Save ThinkFree Office

Wow, this is simply amazing program that works just like Microsoft Office at less than a 1/10 of the price. In the writer's group I run on MSN, I often run into a new writers needing the basic tools to get started. When they see Office's price they scream they cannot afford the cost. They need a Word Process program like WORD - face it they need WORD!! So many steps in publishing need documents in WORD format, you need others to be able to open and read your documents. Only some people just don't have that price for Office in their budget. I had been recommending to these budding writers buy WORKS. It has the full version of WORD, but lacks Powerpoint and Excel.

Where here is a more thorough replacement for Microsoft Office, more features than WORKS and about 1/10 price of WORD, 1/4 the price of WORKS with more features and programs.

1)it's MS Office Compatible. It not only opens MS Office files (.doc, .xls, .ppt) but also saves in that format

2) It includes a word processor (like Word), spreadsheet (like Excel), and presentation software (like Power Point)

3) PLUS the license allows you to install it on as many of your own computers as you like! Really!

So this is a SUPER alternative for a person with oodles of computers (like me), college students on a budget or that writer just starting out.

This a wonderful product for small businesses, if your looking for something affordable and useful, buy this you won't be dissatisfied. I gave it four stars because when using the law documents, you can only open it with the AVANQUEST program, not word. Also, even though the newsletter and brochure program is pretty good, Microsoft Publisher offers better templates and options. But if you can't affor Microsoft Publisher this is a really good product to start with, however as you grow, you might want to upgrade to Microsoft Products.Oh, and when I brought my XP computer there was already a database software installed on it, you might want to check your computer and play around with some of the programs to see if you already have a database installed, I think mine was in the Microsoft Works program.Get more detail about Avanquest Smart Business Pack.

Cheapest Ability Office Standard

I bought Ability Office 4 years ago at an Office Depot.

The programs themselves are not exact replicas of their similar counterparts. If you need to use the extra bells and whistles in photoshop, excel, etc., then I suggest getting the actual product. But for basic purposes, this program is awesome, especially for home use and college students.

Mine has Ability Draw (like paint), Ability Launcher (never used it, but I think it's a way to open various Ability Programs), Ability Photo Album (never used it), Ability Photopaint Studio (like photoshop), Ability Presentations (like PowerPoint), Ability Spreadsheet (like Excel), Ability Write (like Word). You can save your image/document/presentation/etc. in many different formats to be compatible with almost any major software.

While I bought it for the spreadsheets because it would save it as an excel document (whereas Works would not), I use it more now for the photopaint studio (which saves things as a png file...awesome).

I originally had Windows XP and it worked awesome on that. But, now I have Windows Vista and a whole new computer (thanks to a power surge), and there are a few bugs with it now. I only really use the photopaint studio now on Vista, and the main bug is when I delete a layer, the program shuts down soon after. But I can select the whole image and hit the delete button creating a blank layer just fine. Sometimes I have a hard time getting the scanner to be recognized, and that might be more because my printer/scanner is wireless. The other thing that doesn't function on Vista at all but did on XP is the PDF. I don't know if that's because I switched computers or not, or because I switched operating systems. I can't get any programs that saved as a PDF to work on this new computer at all. I haven't tried to figure it out because I rarely want to do that. I thought I'd mention all this since Vista isn't listed for compatibility.Get more detail about Ability Office Standard.

Buying Thinkfree Office for Mac OS X

I really wanted to like this product. ThinkFree Office Suite was going to be my ticket to a Microsoft-free environment when I switched over to the Macintosh platform a few months ago. It touts nearly complete compatibility with the three main MS Office apps: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It's close, very close but in some ways woefully far.

Okay, if you are starting fresh with no history of documents created in the Microsoft programs, you'll be golden. You'll have full-featured versions of the Big Three that will do nearly everything you could hope for and save hundreds of dollars off the Microsoft price. If that's your situation, go for it. If yours is the more typical scenario of dozens or hundreds of files created in Word, Excel and Powerpoint -- plus the need to share files with others using the mainstream programs, think twice. Think more than twice.

The first inkling of trouble came when I needed to edit a Powerpoint presentation that I'd created for a client a couple of months before my switch-over to Mac. In ThinkFree Show. I could add the slides he wanted and import the edited graphics but when it came to the _simple_ task of editing the text, I was faced with a nightmare. When I put the cursor into the text box and began typing, the cursor was in the _wrong_ _place_. When I backspaced to try again, it erased the _wrong_ _characters_. I ended up cutting the text and editing it in another application, then pasting it back in. Worse, when my client went to edit some text himself in Powerpoint, he couldn't even get the cursor into the text box! The file was essentially trashed.

I went to the ThinkFree site and after a lot of searching around, found an email address to send my problem to. Weeks later, I have _still_ not heard anything. I called their contact phone number and left a message for technical support. I missed their return call and left a message in the voicemail of the fellow who called. Nothing further and it has been over two weeks now.

Today was the last straw. I needed to edit a document and send it out to a client right away. When I brought it up in ThinkFree Write, my letterhead was completely skewed in the header. I went in and tried to edit it and was again faced with the inability to change the text in text boxes. When I tried to move the mis-aligned cells of a table, they moved to random places on the page instead of where I'd released the mouse button. I ended up using Word (thankfully I have a copy of Windows with Office running under Parallels on my Mac).

At this point, I deeply regret having shelled out the $50 for ThinkFree Office Suite. It's better than nothing -- but just barely.

I bought the item used, so I paid virtually nothing for it. Under those conditions, I'd have to say I'm satisfied with it. But I would not recommend spending any more than you're willing to waste on an annoying, slim-featured, slow and unreliable application.

Sometimes it will open an MS document. Sometimes it won't. Because it's java based you need to make sure all your file and folder names, in the entire document hierarchy, follow rigid file-naming requirements. No spaces, no slashes, no special characters, and so on. Even when opening a properly-named document at the root level of your hard-drive, however, at times the document inexplicably opens up as a blank page. A day or two later, the same document might open perfectly. This happens not only with documents translated from MS apps, but with documents actually created in Thinkfree Office itself.

The interface and features are more those of an html editor than a word processor, or spreadsheet, or slideshow creator.

Although it can be used to create passable alternatives to MS documents, it has very few features of the actual MS programs. Expect problems and inconsistencies if transfering files between Thinkfree and MS Office users. The look and even the data may change in inexplicable ways.

It is extremely slow. When you open a document, it will seem as if the computer or the application may have hung up or failed. Even more confusing, you can navigate to the open dialog while the application is in the middle of trying to open a document, so it seems for all the world like the document is not responding. But just keep waiting ... eventually the program will get around to making an attempt at opening the document. If you're lucky, you might actually get a usable document in a minute or two. Or maybe a blank page. You can take bets while you're waiting, if you want to make it interesting.

In short, purchase this if you can deal with the annoyances and unreliability. It is useful for trying to open the occasional email attachment. But be aware that this is definitely not a professional-grade software package capable of handling business needs.Get more detail about ThinkFree Office.

Order StarOffice 6.0

There are some people that would rather save money than anything else. My friend John would love this software so I plan to send it to him. He doesn't want to spend money so bad he would endure something like this software. I tried it just to see if it could offer any competition to the overpriced Microsoft Office Suites. It can't begin to challenge MS Office or Corel WordPerfect Office. The reasons are as follows:

1. The applications are not user friendly.
2. It functions far slower than office.
3. If you try to import or export to your friends with MS or Corel apps you will have major problems with the formats.
4. It can't handle large documents, your system will slow to a crawl or lock up.Get more detail about StarOffice 6.0.

Shop For Microsoft Office Personal Portfolio 2002

I bought this to combine with another order and hoped to make my life easier with it. However, I found it a [bad item] after I got it. The calendars are for 2001 and the other stuff are nothing more than a collection of its "templates" from MS website. Fortunately, it comes with a [$$$] rebate, otherwise, I would regret I spent [$$$] valuable dollars to such a [bad item]!

If you have ordered it but it has not arrived, be ready for... regret and disappointment;
If you have not ordered it, never think buying it!Get more detail about Microsoft Office Personal Portfolio 2002.

Home Office 2000 Review

I bought this product a little over a year ago at an office supply chain. As far as the program itself, I was quite happy. Until tonight. Suddenly, a window popped up when I tried to access the word processor, telling me that in order to continue using the product I would have to buy a *full version*. Nowhere in the packaging or literature is it indicated that this is a trial version program (although the price here on Amazon[.com] is certainly a clue). Now I have a worthless program that I can't access with over a year's work on it. Save yourself some headache down the road, buy a *real* office suite bundle.Get more detail about Home Office 2000.

EASY OFFICE PREMIUM Top Quality

I have been using MS Office at work for many years, however, I was not going to pay their exorbitant price for my home PC. Easy Office costs only a fraction of MS Office (amazon.com even ships it for free) and does everything you will ever need at home.Get more detail about EASY OFFICE PREMIUM.

Corel WordPerfect Law Office 2000 This instant

I also run a small law office. After some research, I agree that the new version of the office suite and Corel Word Perfect is not worth the bucks. First of all, a more dependable word processor would be appreciated. Though WP has some great features, it tends to crash. There is NOTHING WORSE when you are on a deadline with the court. Further, the software manufacturer should remember that this is a very cost conscious group to whom they're pitching the product.Get more detail about Corel WordPerfect Law Office 2000.

Easy Office 2001 Immediately

After purchasing the EasyOffice Suite and installing it i was unable to register it with the company E-Press. As a result i have software that i can not use! I tried registering it several times as well as direct emailing the company E-Press several times. That was several weeks ago and have still not heard back from them at all! So, no registration code and unable to use the software. THIS IS A WASTE OF MONEY! DO NOT BUY IT!!Get more detail about Easy Office 2001.

Microsoft Office: Mac 2001 Upgrade Best Quality

Like a good boy, I had been regularly purchasing my MicroSoft Excel upgrades for a very long time. How long has it been? It's been so long that my first copy of Excel (1.0, in 1985) was free, because at the time I possessed registered copies of MS Multiplan and MS Chart. That's a long time by anyone's measure.

My most recent Excel upgrade prior to MS Office for the Mac 2001 was Excel 95; I took a bye on Office 98 principally because I've never been particularly fond of MS Word (even in the Mac versions that had worked reasonably well). For most of the fifteen years or so that I've been using Macs almost exclusively, my word processor of choice has been WriteNow: Lean, mean, full of most of the features that I need, still running on OS 9.2.2, and, regrettably, discontinued (abandoned would be a more appropriate term) several years ago.

However, with the ever-increasing hegemony of Windows-based business networks, and with the fact that Excel 95 cannot run on a G4 Mac with OS 9.0 or newer, I bit the bullet and purchased this Office 2001 upgrade. And, while I've now pretty much climbed its learning curve, the experience hasn't exactly been one that I'd rave about.

Here are a few nits I choose to pick (some small, some not so small):

* Somewhere between Excel 95 and Office 2001, Microsoft programmers seem to have lost track of the fact that Macs have both "Return" and "Enter" keys. (Wintel machines have no "Return" key.) The "Return" key no longer functions as it did, scrolling down one cell in an Excel spreadsheet; it now does precisely the same thing the "Enter" key does (which is limited to whatever one chooses from the "Preferences" menu). Dumb!

* In like fashion, the MS programmers decided to reassign several of the common "Command" key functions (Fill Down, Fill Across, Insert, Delete, Clear, etc.) to the "Control" key, again in some ill-founded effort at "cross-platform"compatibility. (Imagine my surprise when I first went to insert a row or column, only to find that my selection was formatted in italics!) In the process, the ergonomic superiority of the Mac keyboard, requiring less "stretch" effort to activate these keyboard shortcuts, has now been sacrificed to the Bill Gates God of Uniformity. And Microsoft continues to place the Font menu on a toolbar, not as a Mac-standard menu. Dumb!

* While tools have been added to the toolbox library, the ability to customize toolbars for one's own use has actually been reduced! And the tools don't always load consistently, suggesting some bugginess that requires a Microsoft patch or two, not yet available. And, unlike previous Excel upgrades in my experience, this one appears to provide no additional chart types. Dumb!

* Word is incompatible with RamDoubler 9.0 (another patch still not available). But, for once, my newest (G4) Mac has more memory than RamDoubler can deal with. Nevertheless: Dumb!

* Word files - as always - are bloated for reasons that have little to do with content or formatting. (As a comparison, a 25-page file, containing a few tables and some minor formatting, which occupies 91K of HD space as a WriteNow 4.0 file and 96K as a WordPerfect 3.5e file, occupies 194K as a Word 2001 file.) If not "Dumb!", then "Why?"

* The ubiquitous Wintel paperclip "Advisor" has been transmogrified to a less-than-winsome "flex-toy Mac." Gimmee a break!

* Entourage is incompatible with Outlook or Outlook Express. Its inclusion is specious at best, and one wonders how many will use this module.

* Once again, as far as a database module is concerned, Mac users are left in the lurch. Access continues to be notable by its absence (not that it is every database user's "dream program"), and FoxPro has long been history as far as Microsoft support is concerned. Moreover, a Mac port of SQL is just a fantasy. And VisualBasic is only present in crippled form, to support the modules that are VB-capable.

There are a few (very few, I'm sad to say) gains:

* PowerPoint works fine. But I have little need for it, save for the odd PP file that gets attached to my e-mail thanks to some chain letter or other.

* The modules run acceptably fast. But I think this has as much or more to do with G4 speed and available RAM as it does to "tight" coding by software engineers.

* Word works acceptably well (but not particularly great) as a platform for HTML coding.

* I've got the cross-platform compatibility that my business-related activities require.

For those G4 users needing Excel but not needing "full" cross-platform compatibility for other applications, my advice is to limit yourselves to just the Excel 2001 upgrade (saving some bucks), hang on to your WriteNow 4.0 program (it'll run just fine on OS 9.x G4's) or download a free copy of WordPerfect 3.5e, take a bye on Entourage (Outlook Express works just fine, and is bundled free with Explorer), and, if you need a database program, there's always FileMaker Pro.

Summary: A "forced" upgrade for G4 Mac users who must use Excel. More steps backward than forward for those of us who prefer Macs but need the cross-platform compatibility. At best, three stars, and then only with the greatest of reluctance.

Professor Teaches Office 2000 Plus V3.0 Win 95 Get it now!

I have taken quite a few online and computer based training courses. This is, by far, one of the best sets that I've come across so far!

Thanks to these discs, I was able to pass (with flying colors I might add) the MOUS Word 2000 and Excel 2000 certification tests!

They are fairly interactive and easy to follow.

I look forward to trying other tutorials from this company!Get more detail about Professor Teaches Office 2000 Plus V3.0 Win 95.

Corel WordPerfect Law Office 2000 Upgrade Buy Now

For loyal WP users, Corel still produces the best word processing application out there, but Version 9 that ships with WP Office 2000 is a disappointment. A new bug in the Template area -- Corel's KB states that it didn't exist in the first two builds of Ver. 9 -- requires a kludgy workaround. The Address Book doesn't convert your Ver. 8 data. In fact, the new installation leaves the old one on your system intact -- maybe the developers knew that there were going to be some de-installations with this product.

I broke down & purchased the "upgrade," after an unrelated installation hosed my address book. Version 8 users who need to reinstall components have had to do another kludge on the mapi32.dll file to maintain compatibility with IE5.x for quite some time now, a sure sign that a version is getting a bit long in the tooth, & I decided that it was no longer worth it to maintain Ver. 8. I was wrong.

Ver. 8 is much more stable & much more functional. Don't switch as long as you still have a choice!

I purchased the Law Office suite, because I expect to receive my J.D. this school year, & my full-time job in risk management already emulates in-house legal work to some degree. I haven't had a chance to explore all the extra features, but they seem useful & interesting, with the exception of Dragon Naturally Speaking, which I already had to uninstall because it was causing crashes, even though I had not yet used it.

One redesigned feature that I would really like if it were more robust is the new CorelCentral My Calendar. I have been using it instead of my old Organizer application AND my paper planner, but I haven't managed to coordinate it with my PDA yet. There are only two things I dislike.

First, leaving the Calendar running on the Desktop leaves it vulnerable to crashes in other applications that cause freezes & reboots. I've already had to run pfreg.exe TWICE in two weeks to revive it.

Second, its default docking area on the right-hand side of the screen interferes with scrolling. If other people use the scroll bar the same way I do, they park the mouse pointer on the scroll bar while reading. When you do that, the Calendar keeps popping out at you & covering what you're reading, so you constantly have to move the mouse away from there & then move it back to scroll some more. If there were a "Preferences" item or drag-and-drop to place it in another part of the Desktop either permanently or while reading, it would be a huge improvement.

I remain a loyal WP customer, but Ver. 9 reminds me of the bad old buggy days of 5.2. Corel should do better.Get more detail about Corel WordPerfect Law Office 2000 Upgrade.

Office Ready Family Essentials Order Now

Don't buy this product. It won't work with office 2000 without a patch-I got patch and still didn't work. Canon does not support software. If you call the number given by canon, the number is disconnected. This product never worked properly from what I can tell and Canon never cared. If you are running xp, forget it, it won't even install. Bottom line, don't buy this product, and I would never buy anything from canon again.Get more detail about Office Ready Family Essentials.
